Events

Women on Record was launched at the IGNCA in New Delhi in March-April 2010. It comprised an exhibition, Music and Nostalgia, and a live performance, Inhi Logon Ne, which recreated the ambience of the gramophone era in India. These were inaugurated by Mrs. Gursharan Kaur. Women on Record also included a seminar, Think Through, inaugurated by Secretary, Culture.

Women on RecordThink Through was a two-day seminar on the interface between art and technology in the gramophone era in India.

Women on Record traveled to the Jaganmohan Palace in Mysore, Karnataka in August 2010. Gauhar Jan was court singer at Mysore towards the end of her career and passed away there in 1938. So Jaganmohan Palace was a poignant and symbolic venue for an event such as this one.

Women on Record was taken to the Jaipur Literature Festival in January 2011.
